According to the agency, the product was distributed in Quebec, Ontario, Alberta, Manitoba, New Brunswick and several other places.
Phoenicia Group is voluntarily recalling the affected products and CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
However, there are no reported illnesses till date in Canada associated with the consumption of the recalled product, the agency said.
Consumption of food contaminated with Salmonella may cause Salmonellosis, a foodborne illness. In young children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems, Salmonellosis may lead to serious and sometimes deadly infections.
