Core Tip: Frito-Lay, Inc., a division of PepsiCo, Inc., has added two varieties to its Lay’s Kettle Cooked potato chip line: Applewood smoked BBQ and sun-dried tomato and Parmesan. The chips contain 40% less fat than regular potato chips, according to Frito-Lay.
“Consumers of Lay’s Kettle Cooked potato chips, many of whom are baby boomers, are increasingly looking for more unique flavor experiences, while at the same time maintaining balance in their diets,” said Tony Matta, vice-president of marketing, Frito-Lay North America. “Thanks to unique flavor layering and high-quality ingredients in new Lay’s Kettle Cooked potato chips, consumers can savor the kettle-cooked crunch they’ve grown to love, with full flavor and less fat.”

The Kettle Cooked chips are available nationally in 8-oz packages for a suggested retail price of $3.49 each.
