Core Tip: Tony Downs Foods, an establishment based in Madelia, Minnesota, is recalling approximately 70,500 pounds of chunk chicken due to mislabeling and an undeclared allergen, according to US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS).
The canned products may contain 'Beef with Gravy,' instead of the chicken product. In addition, the production contains wheat, which is not declared on the label.

The products subject to recall are 12.5-oz. cans of Tyson Premium Chunk Chicken. They bear the code date of '8965 248A 12139' and 'Best by May 18, 2015' ink-jetted on the bottom of each can.

These products were produced on 18 May 2012, and were distributed to retail establishments nationwide. This recall has been classified as Class II, which indicates a low heatlh risk.

FSIS noted that the problem was identified after the firm received customer complaints that the product was incorrectly labeled. FSIS and the company have not received any reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. People concerned about a reaction have been advised contact a healthcare provider.
