The Adisseo Group, a manufacturer of nutritional solutions for animals, has introduced a new free MilkPay iPhone app to calculate the price of milk for any Federal Milk Marketing Order (FMMO) that pays on components.
An insufficient supply of essential amino acids can have adverse effect on cow health and reproduction, and results in reduced milk volume, milk protein and milk fat.
According to the company, the new app streamlines calculations to determine the economic impact of balancing amino acids in a dairy herd's ration.
The MilkPay app calculates the value of milk when feed costs and component levels change and shows how these changes affect income over feed cost (IOFC) and return on investment (ROI).
The company, a subsidiary of the BlueStar International group, said that the app uses one-click updating of payment prices for components, somatic cell count and the Producer Price Differential.
Adisseo ruminant business director Brian Sloan said that the MilkPay app helps nutritionists and producers, whether in the field or in the office.
"Adisseo is committed to assisting dairy producers in maximizing income by advancing herd nutrition," Sloan said.
Rhodimet, MetaSmart and Smartamine M, Rovabio and Microvit are the families of animal feed additives the company produces.
Adisseo's global distribution network covers more than 2,500 clients in more than 100 countries.
