US packaged foods company ConAgra Foods plans to close its manufacturing facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, in late spring 2013, a move that will put 240 jobs at risk.

ConAgra Foods gained ownership of the Little Rock facility when it acquired Odom's Tennessee Pride, a manufacturer of frozen and refrigerated breakfast sandwiches and sausages, in May 2012.

ConAgra Foods said that Odom's Tennessee Pride's two other manufacturing facilities in Dickson, Tennessee, and Madison, Tennessee, will continue to operate. However, it did not disclose whether it would be offering any alternative employment to the Little Rock plant's workforce.

Following the plant closure, the Arkansas Economic Development Commission will take a decision on the future of the 110,000ft2 plant.

ConAgra Foods, headquartered in Nebraska, US, provides branded, private label, and customized food products and also offers commercially branded foods and ingredients.
