1 AVA will be implementing the enhanced Regulated Source Programme on 2 May 2013 to ensure that the imported food products are manufactured in properly regulated food establishments.

2 The enhanced programme requires the following categories of Malaysian food products to be imported from food manufacturing establishments which are approved for export by the Malaysia’s Ministry of Health (MOH) only. It may be extended to other countries as well as other products in future.
(a) Traditional cakes (kueh kueh) – ready to eat only*
(b) Nasi lemak and other perishable cooked food – ready to eat only*
(c) Mooncakes
(d) Infant formula
(e) Infant cereal
(f) Dried soya bean products (beancurd sticks, skins)
(g) Other ready to eat food (puttu mayam, roti prata, capati, thosai and other product of similar nature)*
* Frozen and/or uncooked products are currently excluded.

3 For each import, the establishment code of the Malaysia MOH approved food establishment must be declared in your cargo clearance permit under the SC/CA Code 1 field. You may be required to submit documentary proof (invoices, packing lists, manufacturer’s licence etc.) to AVA at the point of permit declaration to prove that you are importing from the establishment declared.

4 The list of food manufacturing establishments approved for export by Malaysia MOH is appended. This list will be uploaded onto the AVA website with establishment codes at a later date. We will notify you of the establishment codes separately. 5 If your exporting food establishment is not currently listed in the list of approved food manufacturing establishments, please inform the establishment to contact Malaysia MOH.

The contact details of Malaysia MOH are provided below.
