US-based Packaging Dynamics has acquired De Luxe, a manufacturer of flexible packaging products for food service, bakery, confectionery, dairy, and other specialty applications, for an undisclosed amount.

Packaging Dynamics chief executive officer Roger Prevot said that the acquisition of De Luxe marks a major milestone in the development of the company.

"De Luxe will support our continuing growth with the addition of leading positions in new geographies, products and end-markets," Prevot said.

The transaction provides Packaging Dynamics with a number of benefits including broader technical and manufacturing capabilities, well respected brands, an expanded customer base and a more balanced manufacturing platform.

Packaging Dynamics is a flexible packaging and specialty papers manufacturer providing innovative solutions to customers in three business units - BagcraftPapercon, International Converter, and Thilmany Papers.

Headquartered at Montreal manufacturing facility, De Luxe also operates facilities in Toronto, Chicago and New York in the US.
