Symrise AG received "prime status" and a B- grade from sustainability research company oekom research AG for its sustainable corporate management. The status qualifies the company for a socially responsible investment (SRI).
Symrise also received high marks for its responsible procurement processes and its efforts to avoid research testing on animals. The implementation of sustainability in corporate processes was also highlighted, recognizing Symrise's code of conduct and sustainable management systems regarding the environment, health and safety throughout. Symrise also took first place in the use of renewable raw materials rating.
"It is a clear indication of the advanced integration of sustainability in our business strategy and processes. In the same way, the rating provides us with additional incentive for improving our performance and systematically addressing areas that have been identified as needing further development," said CEO Dr. Heinz-Jürgen Bertram.
