Despite the temperature warming up now in Southern California, the effects of the cold are still being felt.
At the time of the freeze most people feared its effects upon on the citrus industry, but it transpires that the biggest problems are with the state's lettuce and Winter green crops.
Retail and wholesale prices ave risen dramatically as a result of frost damage to everything fro iceberg lettuce to asparagus. supermarkets are even posting warning signs about and restaurants are struggling to turn a profit as some vegetables have doubled in price.
In the Winter time, around 90% of the nation's vegetable supply is cultivated in affected areas, where 25% of crops have been damaged.
Some of the produce that is getting through to the food chain is said to be of lower quality than usual.
"It isn't as pretty and perfect as it normally is," said Wendy Fink-Weber, a spokeswoman for the Western Growers Association.
