Congébec Logistics Inc., Quebec City, Quebec, largest provider of refrigerated logistics services in Quebec and the second largest in Canada, has acquired the assets of Westco MultiTemp Distribution Centres Inc.
These assets consist of four temperature controlled warehouses located in Manitoba, Saskatchewan and in Alberta, with a total square footage of 610,000, plus 12 acres of prime land in Calgary available for future expansion.
With this acquisition, Congébec now has 12 warehouses strategically located across Canada, including eight in the East and four in Western Canada, giving it a total storage space of 46,500,000 cubic feet and approximately 185,000 pallet positions. Congébec thus becomes the 12th largest public refrigerated warehousing company in North America and 15th in the world among member companies of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW).

Founded in 1959, Westco specializes in the storage and refrigeration of food and related products and offers a complete range of logistics services in each location, including transportation, distribution and export services; the newly acquired Westco facilities are modern buildings located in strategic areas and designed to store and distribute large volumes of food products requiring controlled temperatures.
With this acquisition, Congébec adds Westcos regional strength to its existing operations in Ontario and Quebec to form a truly national company offering a full range of warehousing and multi-temperature transportation services across Canada, including transportation and co-packing services.
