The business was started in 1954, when Ukrainian refugees Wasyl and Anna Kramarczuk bought Central Provisions in Northeast Minneapolis and named it Kramarczuk's Sausage Co.
It has been in the same location ever since. Now, the Kramarczuks' son Orest owns the business.
In addition to deli sandwiches served on fresh rye bread, Kramarczuk's still serves traditional fare: pork- and rice-filled cabbage rolls in tomato-cream sauce, dumplings, Polish sausages and more.
The butcher shop turns out sausage, bratwurst, kielbasa and wieners, and there's a bakery that makes traditional sweet treats as well.
