Core Tip: The General Advisory Committee on Science (GACS) is issuing an open invitation to its 11th meeting, which will be held in London on Thursday 21 March 2013.
GACS provides independent challenge and advice on how the Food Standards Agency collects and uses scientific evidence.

At the meeting, the committee will be discussing:

• a report from the FSA’s Chief Scientist on science in the FSA
• papers from the Scientific Advisory Committees (SACs), including the review of the Social Science Research Committee
• plans for a future programme of SAC reviews
• a presentation from the Chair of the Advisory Committee on Dangerous Pathogens, on the work of the sub-group on Transmissible Spongiform Encephalopathies

The Committee will also receive reports on the FSA’s evidence portfolio, as well as on the GACS 'science communication and engagement' and 'utilisation of data' working groups.

The full agenda can be found in the link below. Please note the agenda items (and the order of items) may be changed at short notice. Papers will be made available on the GACS website soon.
