Nestle Germany is being fined EUR 20 million for improper sharing of information with the producers of competing products, including frozen pizza.
"High ranking sales staff from the company met for regular talks over a period of years and exchanged information on negotiations with retailers and also, to a certain extent, on planned price increases," said Andreas Mundt, president of the German cartel office in Bonn, on Wednesday.
A company spokesman said Nestle will appeal the finding. Dr Oetker and the German units of Kraft Foods and Unilever were fined EUR 38 million in 2011 as part of the same investigation.
