Nestlé Nespresso SA has begun construction of its third production center in Romont, Switzerland. The new facility builds on the company’s presence in the country and its two existing production centers in Orbe and Avenches. It will be operational in the first half of 2015.
“Initiated four years ago and carried by the continuous energy and determination of our teams and partners, this third production center marks our confidence in our business model and in our future,” said Jean-Marc Duvoisin, CEO of Nestlé Nespresso SA. “It is an investment in our coffee expertise and quality, two pillars for the sustainable growth of our company moving forward.”
Nespresso will invest more than 300 million Swiss francs in the construction of this new facility, which will have a surface area of around 21,000 sq m. This new site will create direct and indirect jobs in the region, while stimulating the local and regional economy. Nearly 200 skilled direct jobs will be created by the end of the first year of operation in 2015, reaching 400 by the end of 2016.
