Yum! Brands, a US-based franchisee, has extended the fast food chain KFC brand to Mongolia with the launch of first outlet in collaboration with franchise partner, Tavan Bogd Foods.
The new store in Ulaanbaatar is said to be part of Tavan Bogd Foods' plan to open five KFC restaurants in the country by the end of 2013.
Tavan Bogd Foods is also mulling to launch a total of 15 KFC outlets over next five years starting with first drive-thru service.
Commenting on the expansion, Yum! Restaurants International CEO Micky Pant stated that the move has expanded KFC's presence in almost all the global markets.
"In a world that's connected more than ever, customers are craving brands like KFC, even in previously remote areas, such as Mongolia," added Pant.
The menu of KFC Mongolia features Original Recipe chicken, popcorn chicken, the Original Recipe burger, Zingers, Twisters, salads, mashed potatoes and coleslaw.
