Carlos Barroso has joined Campbell Soup Co. as senior vice-president of global research and development.
Mr. Barroso has been in research and development for more than 20 years and has managed his own consulting practice with many Fortune 100 clients. He also has been senior vice-president of research and development and PepsiCo.
“Carlos brings extensive R.&D. food and consumer packaged goods expertise to Campbell at a very important time,” said Denise Morrison, chief executive officer. “His knowledge of emerging markets and open innovation, coupled with his experience in baked snacks and flavor science make him an excellent fit for our organization.”
Mr. Barroso will begin in the position on July 31. He has a chemical engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
