Nestlé's Purina Petcare brand has announced plans to build a new factory and distribution centre in south-west Poland.
The new factory, representing an investment of CHF93 million, will be built near the city of Wroclaw and is expected to be fully operational by the second half of 2014. The new factory and distribution centre will create 200 jobs.
According to Nestlé, Poland, and the Wroclaw area in particular, were chosen for their 'strategic position' in Eastern Europe. 'The investment also supports Nestlé Purina's long-term ambition to bolster its position in Europe'.
“We are very pleased to announce this new investment, which strengthens both our industrial and business presence in Poland,” Pierre Detry, president of Nestlé Poland S.A said.
Nestlé has been present in Poland since 1993 and currently operates nine plants in the region, employing 5,100. The FMCG giant's Purina PetCare brand has been present in Poland for 16 years.
