153 Now Ill in Hepatitis A Outbreak

At least 153 people in nine western states have been confirmed ill with hepatitis A in connection to Townsend Farms Organic Antioxidant frozen berry mix containing contaminated pomegranate seeds imported from Turkey. The berries were sold at Costco stores.

Of those ill, at least 66 have been hospitalized.

The case count by state is as follows:

Arizona (22), California (75), Colorado (27), Hawaii (8), New Hampshire (1), New Mexico (9), Nevada (6), Utah (3), and Wisconsin (2).

Victim ages range from 1 to 84 years old, with 57 percent falling between the ages of 40 and 64.

Illness onset dates range from March 31 to July 9.
