South African petrochemicals giant Sasol and fast food chain Burger King South Africa have signed an exclusive quick service restaurant (QSR) agreement.
Under the collaboration, Burger King South Africa will open fast food restaurants across Sasol's national fuel retail network, which will be both company-owned and franchise-model owned by Sasol's franchisees.
Burger King Worldwide EMEA president José Cil said that the alliance with Sasol enables company to introduce its brand across new channels and thereby expand its customer brand and restaurants in South Africa.
"Also, this reinforces our strong belief in the value of our partnership with GPI as they possess great knowledge of the sector in which they operate and continue to help us enhance our brand's positioning in the market," added Cil.
Sasol Oil managing director Alan Cameron noted: "Partnering with Burger King one of the leading global QSR brands is in line with our strategic vision and will allow us to expand our retail footprint in South Africa. This collaboration will allow two leading brands to leverage each other's strengths and capabilities."
Burger King South Africa is a joint venture between Burger King Worldwide and Cape-based Grand Parade Investments (GPI).
