Roundy’s banners in Wisconsin began promoting local produce and farmers this week thanks to a partnership with the Wisconsin Food Hub Cooperative.

All Wisconsin Copps, Pick ’n Save and Metro Market locations now offer local fruits and vegetables from WFHC. The retailer also provides information and photos on the local farms and farmers on its website, in stores and in print ads.

Some of the initial products featured on the banners’ websites include cranberries, melons and fresh herbs.

WFHC allows small farms to sell produce to large retailers.

“Roundy’s believes in supporting local farmers, and offering customers the best in Wisconsin-grown produce, while also supporting our local state economy,” Steve Jarzombek, vice president of produce at Roundy’s, said in a statement. “We are excited about these partnerships that will make purchasing locally grown produce easy for our customers.”
