BCI is pleased to announce that the food additive use regulations for the Customs Union of Russia, Kazakhstan, and Belarus have been added to the International Food Additive Database. On July 1, 2013, the Custom Union’s Eurasian Economic Commission adopted a new regulation, Safety Requirements for Food Additives, Flavorings and Technological Aids. The database now includes maximum use levels established by this regulation for more than 450 food additives.
Users of the database may search by additive, by technological function, or by market in order to compare food additive maximum use levels across markets and across food types. With the addition of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan, the database now includes 27 markets. Additional markets are in the process of being added this year.
BCI invites comments, questions, and other feedback regarding the database, which can be submitted via the “Feedback” link.
