The company behind a recently-launched high protein bread product is to introduce a pasta product, containing 50g of protein per 100g serving.
The new product, to be launched by Dr Zak's this autumn, is made from egg and pea protein isolates instead of durum wheat.
Tapping into the growing consumer preference for high-protein foods and snacks, Dr Zak's is also planning to launch tortilla flat breads by the end of the year, with protein bars, bagels and pizza bases also in the pipeline.
"The market is at the start of a curve of interest as consumers become more protein-savvy", Dr Zak's sales director Ray Brilus said.
Manufactured by Finsbury Foods' Nicholas & Harris, Dr Zak's protein bread is currently available from The Health Stores, retailing at £3.99.
