More than 140 Environmental Health Officers responsible for food safety compliance across NSW have converged on Sydney for the 2013 Food Regulation Partnership Conference, hosted by the NSW Food Authority.
The 2 day event, themed “Driving food safety compliance through understanding and collaboration” provides an opportunity for officers to share their knowledge and experience as well as provide further education in food regulation and food safety.
Supporting the NSW Food Authority and local Council’s in their role working to ensure food sold in NSW is safe and correctly labelled, the conference will address issues including the role of food safety compliance in reducing foodborne illness incorporating presentations as well as practical demonstrations and field excursions.
The presentation of the Food Regulation Partnership Champion Awards will also recognise excellence and the achievements of Environmental Health Officers in NSW.
The NSW Food Authority provides a single point of contact on food safety and regulation for industry, local government and consumers.
