Australia-based Raleigh Dairies and Lactanz Dairies have been put up for sale, following lower fresh milk prices.
The sale of Raleigh Dairies and Lactanz Dairies is expected to fetch around $20m and $30m respectively.
Raleigh Dairies has 2000 cattle across two farms, including North Bank Dairy and Yellow Rock Dairy, while Lactanz Dairies has advanced properties that are spread over an area of about 2200ha.
Colliers International Rural & Agribusiness has been roped in for the transaction.
Commenting on the transaction, Herron Todd White valuer David Leeds said that the small-scale dairy farms are being purchased for restarting on the back of record high dairy prices and a relatively good water resource position in the north.
Apart from Raleigh Dairies and Lactanz Dairies, several other major dairy firms have also been put up for sale.
