Ferrarini USA, ImporterItalian salami of Record in San Fernando, CA, is recalling approximately 15,118 pounds of salami products that were not presented for import reinspection, the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced on Saturday. Import reinspection by FSIS is required before an imported product is eligible to enter commerce.

The products subject to recall include:

FSIS import inspection staff and the import house discovered the problem when the shipment was not presented for reinspection as scheduled. FSIS and the company have not received reports of illnesses due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an illness should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers.

Consumers and media with questions about the recall should contact Grant Linebach at (818) 256-1622.
