Overall, Italian companies exported 3.32 million tonnes of produce between January and October 2013, for a total value of little over €3.33 billion (+5.7%).
Exports of vegetables and fresh fruit decreased (-1.5 and -13.5% respectively), whereas those of citrus fruit (+0.9%) and dried fruit (+7%) increased. In terms of volume, the sign is positive for all sectors: vegetables +13.4%, citrus fruit +30.6%, fresh fruit +0.4% and dried fruit +9.6%.

Talking about imports, Italy bought around 2.77 million tonnes of produce for a total value of €2.59 billion (+13.3%).
The imported volume of citrus fruit (+7%), vegetables (+3.9%), fresh fruit (+9.3%), tropical fruit (+6.6%) and dried fruit (+7.2%) increased. The sign concerning value is positive for all sectors too.
