Paul LEIBIbakeryNGER has developed two FDA-compliant inks and two MEK-free inks that comply with the food industry standards and standards relating to solvents containing MEK.

Designed especially for the marking of eggs, one of the new inks meets FDA requirements and even if it gets inside the shell, the egg would be absolutely safe to eat.

The range also includes a FDA-compliant ethanol-based blue ink, which is edible after printing and can therefore be used for food packaging as well as direct printing on food products.

The MEK-free inks have been designed for customers who want to mark their products red or blue but not permitted to use solvents containing MEK.

The company stated that these inks are also an alternative to customers to reduce the use of substances containing MEK in their production processes.

The inks are said to have better adhesion and suitable for use as universal inks.
