The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) has granted certification to a Chilean mussel fishery, certifying the products as sustainable.

The MSC announced on 11 February that the period to object to its determination for the mussel fishery and suspended culture Toralla S.A and Cultivos Toralla S.A. Fishery expired on 12 November 2013 without comment, meaning the MSC"s decision stands.

The fishery may apply the MSC ecolabel to all products taken after 2 January 2013. The fishery's new certificate will remain in effect for the next five years, providing the fishery completes annual audits.
