People who have allergies to eggs run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reaction if they consumer these products. The recalled “Golden Smell Hotpot Meat Ball Medley” were distributed nationwide in retail stores and through mail orders.
No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with this problem.
The problem was discovered as a result of routine sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors and subsequent analysis by Food Laboratory personnel revealed the presence of allergen in product packages that did not declare the allergen on the label.
