US-based Unique Pizza and Subs Corporation are exploring the option to create a signature cannabis infused Unique Pizza, in the wake of increasing demand and legalization of marijuana in Colorado.

The new pizza is expected to be developed at Dr. Reddy's laboratories and test kitchen, and utilise its skils and scientific technology. It would be sold at adult bars and night clubs across the state.

Unique Pizza and Subs president & CEO James Vowler said, "We started our discussions about the possibility of developing a line of marijuana pizzas back in April of this year.

"Since then our casual discussions have led us to beginning the necessary steps to start developing prototypes of a Unique cannabis gourmet pizza," Vowler said.

"As mentioned in previous releases we are developing a frozen (non-marijuana) pizza that we expect to have in production by the end of this year and believe we can also explore the development of a marijuana pizza in that same timeframe."

Several companies in Colorado have started testing marijuana edible products soon after the legalisation of marijuana on 01 May 2014.

"One of our largest shareholders has expressed a strong interest in owning the rights to distribute a Unique Marijuana Pizza throughout his home country of Canada and we will be working closely with him and his company on this project," Vowler added.
