Possible Salmonella contamination forces recall of wafer products in UK

Valeo Foods has recalled Kelkin Milk Chocolate Break Wafers as they may be contaminated with Salmonella, according to the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA).

The recalled product is Kelkin Milk Chocolate Break Wafers 'free from' Gluten with 'Best before' date: 1 February 2016.

Valeo Foods has recalled the potentially affected product on a precautionary basis which is only sold in Sainsbury's stores across the UK.

Sainsbury's has displayed point-of-sale recall notices in stores to notify its customers about the recall and advise them of what actions to take if they have bought the product.

Customers who have bought the recalled product should not to consume it as it may cause food poisoning.

No other Kelkin products are known to be affected in the recall.

Bakers Delight and Atkins International have also recalled 'free from' Enjoy Gluten Free Wafer Fingers and Atkins Endulge Chocolate Break Wafers, respectively over possible Salmonella contamination.

All dates of Bakers Delight 'free from' Enjoy Wafer Fingers and Atkins Endulge Chocolate Break Wafers with 'Best before' date: 27 August 2016 are known to be affected by the recall, the FSA said.
