Andalusian agro-food exports during the first ten months of 2015 reached a value of 7,334 million Euro, 6% more than in the same period of the previous year. The commodity groups that have grown the most are cereals, fruits and vegetables, with 21.9%, 18.5% and 10.8%, respectively.

These good figures are directly reflected in the province of Almeria, which is on track to break a new record.

By provinces, except for Jaen, which has registered a 34% drop, and Cadiz, for which everything remains virtually unchanged (-0.8%), all have increased their exports. At the head stands Almeria, which generated the most revenue from the sale of agricultural products between January and October 2015: 1,872 million Euro, 11.4% more than in 2014. The second position was for Seville, with sales amounting to 1,845 million Euro, 4.2% more than in the previous year.

It is also worth noting that in the period between January and October 2015 Andalusia exported food products worth some 3,006 million Euro, 19.8% more than in 2014. The Andalusian agro-food trade balance (difference between exports and imports) in this period reveals a profit of 4,328 million Euro.

The Andalusian food sector accounts for about 8% of the region's GDP, and together with the auxiliary industry it reaches 13%. In 2014, the value of the production reached 10,938 million Euro, 11.5% more than in 2013. It currently supplies a quarter of the country's entire agricultural production and about a third of the value added.
