Courgettes have recorded the sharpest price increases this past week, going from 21 to 47 cents per kilo in the case of thick courgettes and from 25 to 48 cents in the case of the thin variety. Nevertheless, only five weeks before the courgette season comes to an end, the sector is not very optimistic, given the instability that has marked the development of the campaign, with some oversupply and strong pressure from the Moroccan product.

At present, with the Dutch season already underway, the price of cucumbers of the Almeria or Dutch variety stands at 20 cents per kilo, while the French and Spanish, mostly intended for domestic consumption, range between 37 and 43 cents per kilo.

Pear and Daniela tomato prices have stayed at around 70 cents, while tomatoes on the vine do not reach 50 cents. Production is expected to be lower than last year in the spring-summer season, so prices could either rise in the coming weeks or remain stable.
