From May this year, freshwater fishes were withdrawn from sale in major supermarkets in Beijing, and there were online rumors such as “Freshwater fish was pulled off shelves for water pollution”. While Beijing food and drug administration indicated that the online rumors were unbelievable and percent of pass of aquatic products during sampling inspection was more than 90% all year round. Beijing has not issued a notice about stopping the sale of freshwater fish uniformly, and it was voluntary behaviors of enterprises. Another source said, this may be concerned with message leakage of special inspection of aquatic products of CFDA, and operators attempted to escape inspection.


CFDA notified the information of 5 batches of unqualified infant formula

In October, 2016, CFDA organized and carried out 227 batches of infant formula and seized 5 batches of unqualified products including 3 batches of products from Heshui Guxiang Dairy industry Co., Ltd for trans-fatty acids and linoleic acid, and 1 batch of product from Hulun Buir Youyi Dairy (Group) Co., Ltd. and Hulun Buir Eurbest Dairy Co., Ltd. respectively for enterobacter sakazakii.
