The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that Simply Fresh Foods, Inc., headquartered in Buena Park, California, has recalled 272 cases of its “SAN FRANCISCO SEAFOOD SALAD MADE WITH GREEK YOGURT.” This seafood salad may contain milk, which is labeled on the product’s outer sleeve but is not listed on the individual salad cups inside the 4-pack cartons. The individual cups may also be erroneously labeled as “SEAFOOD SALAD WITH REAL MAYONNAISE.”
The 16-ounce (1 lb.) 4-packs, each containing 4-ounce (113 g) single serve cups, were shipped to retail grocery stores in the states of Arizona, Georgia, Indiana, Oregon, Utah, and Washington. The “Use By” date of 10/15/17 B10 is stamped both on the outer cartons and on the sides of the single serve cups; the cartons bear the UPC bar code 47502 19701 and the individual cups are marked with the UPC code 47502 19001.
People who are allergic or sensitive to milk may become ill if they consume this seafood salad. The packages need to either be thrown away or returned to their place of purchase for a refund.
