The (FDA) reports that Whole Foods Market has issued a nationwide recall for its “365 EVERYDAY VALUE ORGANIC RAISIN BRAN.” This so-called “raisin bran” contains peanuts that were not declared on the product labeling due to a packaging error in which the raisin bran boxes were filled with “Peanut Butter Cocoa Balls” cereal instead of raisin bran.

Peanuts can be a life-threatening allergen for many people, causing dangerous illness or anaphylaxis shock if consumed. People who are allergic to peanuts should either throw the boxes away or return them, along with their receipt, to their place of purchase for a refund.

The cereal boxes affected by the recall were shipped to Whole Foods Market stores across the United States. This cereal was also sold online through Amazon.com. The 15-ounce boxes are stamped with a “Best By” date of June 4, 2018 and the UPC code 9948243903.
