Valley Fine Foods Recalls Three Bridges Simple Dishes Products for Possible Adulteration

Core Tip: Valley Fine Foods, of Forest City, North Carolina, is recalling 35,516 pounds of heat-treated, not fully cooked Three Bridges Simple Dishes meat and poultry products because they may be contaminated.
Valley Fine Foods, of Forest City, North Carolina, is recalling 35,516 pounds of heat-treated, not fully cooked Three Bridges Simple Dishes meat and poultry products because they may be contaminated. The products may contain “spoilage organisms that have rendered it unwholesome and fit for human food,” according to the USDA. No confirmed reports of illness have been received to date.

The problem was discovered on October 4, 2018, by the establishment’s research and development facility during routine internal testing. FSIS was told about this issue on October 10, 2018.
 
The recalled Three Bridges Simple Dishes products were produced on various dates ranging from August 15, 2018 to October 4, 2018. All of the foods have the establishment number “P-22102B” or “M-22102B” on the side of the package. They were shipped to retail locations in California, Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, and North Carolina.
 
The recalled foods include 12-ounce tray packages containing “SIMPLE DISHES™ Chicken Penne Alfredo” with case code #19034, case UPC number 1-07-42753-34709-0, and “BEST IF USED BY” 10/09/18 through 11/25/18. The unit UPC number is 7-42753-34709-3. Also recalled is 12-ounce  tray packages containing “SIMPLE DISHES™ Chicken Primavera” with case code #19033, case UPC number 1-07-42753-34708-3, and “BEST IF USED BY” 10/09/18 through 11/25/18. The unit UPC number is 7-42753-34708-6.
 
Also recalled is 12-ounce tray packages containing “SIMPLE DISHES™ Italian Sausage Ziti” with case code #19035, case UPC number 1-07-42753-34711-3, and “BEST IF USED BY” 10/09/18 through 11/25/18. The unit UPC number on that product is 7-42753-34711-6. Finally, 12-ounce tray packages containing “SIMPLE DISHES™ Rigatoni with Meatballs and a Mushroom Cream Sauce” is recalled, with case code #19036, case UPC number 1-07-42753- 34710-6 and “BEST IF USED BY” 10/09/18 through 11/25/18.  The unit UPC number on this last product is 7-42753-34710-9.
 
FSIS is concerned that some of these foods may be in home freezers. If you bought any of these items, don’t eat them, even if you are going to heat them first. Some microbes can create toxins as they grow that aren’t destroyed by heat. Throw them away or return them for a refund.
