Core Tip: Two products, white beans and broth, have been recalled for undeclared allergens.
Two products, white beans and broth,  have been recalled for undeclared allergens. Anyone who is allergic to these ingredients could have a serious reaction if they consume them. No illnesses or allergic reactions were reported in either recall.

The first recall is for New Seasons Hot & Sour Broth, for undeclared soy. The recall is for 193 jars, which were distributed to all New Seasons Market stores in Oregon and Washington state from October 8, 2018 to October 20, 2018. The recalled product is New Seasons Market Hot & Sour Broth in 24 ounce containers. All best by dates are recalled. The UPC number on that product is 840600108672. The recall was initiated because the broth contains Tamari sauce, which is made from soy beans.

The second recall is for a specific production code of Faribault Foods S&W White Beans, for undeclared sulfites. This product was distributed in Washington, Oregon, and Alaska. The recall is for product with a can code of “Best By AUG 23 2020 1310 F2 236 17 XXXX (time stamp).&rdquo. Look at the bottom of the can to see this code. The beans were sold in 15 ounce cans. No other production codes, sizes, or brands of Faribault Foods products are affected by this recall.

Consumer feedback prompted this recall. The contents in the can are actually garbanzo beans, which were mislabeled as white beans. A temporary breakdown in the company’s packaging process led to this problem.

If you purchased either of these products and are allergic to the subsequent allergens, don’t eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the store where you bought them for a full refund.
