The symptoms of a Salmonella infection include fever, nausea, vomiting, stomach and abdominal pain, and diarrhea that may be bloody. Symptoms usually begin 12 to 72 hours after ingesting the pathogen. Most people recover on their own within a few days, but some may become seriously ill and require medical attention and even hospitalization. If you do feel sick, see your doctor.
