These products have the establishment number “P-46167” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were shipped to retail facilities in Florida. You can see pictures of all of the product labels at the USDA web site.
The company discovered the problem on February 18, 2019 when FSIS inspection personnel found that the product tested positive for Listeria. If you purchased any of these products, do not eat them. Throw them away in a sealed or double wrapped package, and put them into a secure garbage can with a tight lid so other people and animals can’t access it. You can also take the product back to the store where you purchased it for a refund.
It’s a good idea to clean out your refrigerator with a mild bleach solution to kill any remaining bacteria. Listeria bacteria can grow at temperatures below 40°F, and freezing doesn’t kill it.
If you ate any of this chicken salad, watch your health for symptoms of listeriosis, which can occur up to 70 days after exposure. Sympotms include high fever, stiff neck, severe headache, and symptoms like the flu.
