Carnivore Meat Company of Franklin Tennessee is recalling about 379 pounds of raw ground beef and pork sausages for misbranding and an un declared allergen. The product contains soy, one of the eight major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone who is allergic to soy could have a reaction if they eat this product. No confirmed reports of allergic reactions have been received to date.

The products were produced on January 8, January 28, and February 7, 2019. They include 1 and 3 pound vacuum sealed packages of Beef Boerewors, South African Farm Sausage, and 1 and 2 pound vacuum sealed packages of Traditional Boerewors, South African Farm Sausage. These products have the establishment number “EST. 45742” inside the USDA mark of inspection. They were sold in retail stores in Florida and Georgia.

FSIS personnel discovered the problem during a food safety assessment at the facility. If you purchased these sausages and cannot eat soy, do not eat them. Throw them away. You can take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
