"Carrots have been a popular snack vegetable in domestic and overseas markets for years because they are rich in multivitamins and carotene. Carrot production areas are widely distributed throughout China. The production seasons in Sichuan, Guizhou, Henan, Anhui, and Shandong follow each other in neat succession. The competitive position of Chinese carrots in the international market is extremely strong. This is the result of stable year-round supply, as well as the excellent price." This is according to Mr. Liu, a spokesperson for the cooperative.

"We have our own carrot plantations in China. We expanded the surface area devoted to carrot plantation by 5 hectares this year because market conditions were excellent last year. In addition, we also buy carrots from other production areas to guarantee year-round supply, which is the main requirement for satisfied consumers."

"Apart from carrots, we also sell fresh ginger, garlic, and sweet potatoes in the domestic market and overseas. We mainly sell sweet potatoes in high-end markets in Beijing. Our sweet potatoes are grown in only the finest sandy land. We do not apply chemical pesticides at any stage of the production process. Their sugar content is 23%. The sweet potato market supply can not satisfy demand this year as in previous years. This is not just because consumers are intimately familiar with the nutritional value of sweet potatoes, but also because sweet potatoes can be prepared in a number of ways, such as boiling, roasting, or frying."

"The market conditions for fresh ginger and garlic are quite stable. We previously sold our fresh ginger mainly to beverage factories. This year, the overall production volume of fresh ginger declined as a result of extreme weather conditions. The price is now higher than in previous years. As for the garlic market, the export price of garlic has seen constant growth since Chinese Spring Festival [February 5th, 2019]. While we continue to develop our market share in China and abroad in Southeast Asia, we also hope to export our products to high-end markets in Europe in the future."
