The company's Greek yogurt will be offered in 2-packs of 64-oz. containers, and will allow food service operators to easily create Greek yogurt menu items or utilize it as a recipe ingredient.
Kronos Foods president Howard Eirinberg said that Greek yogurt is a much healthier alternative to mayo and sour cream in sandwich spreads, salad dressings, dips, side dishes and desserts without compromising the recipe's flavor.
"By using Greek yogurt, chefs and food service providers can meet consumer demand for taste and lower fat items for breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert," Eirinberg added.
According to the company, the new product has twice the protein of regular yogurt, contains active cultures and probiotics, has no cholesterol or added sugar. It is fat free, Grade A, kosher, all-natural, and features added Vitamin-D.
