13 Confirmed Ill in New Brunswick E. Coli O157 Outbreak

Core Tip: Public health officials in the Canadian province of New Brunswick are investigating an E. coli O157:H7 outbreak with 13 confirmed cases and another 14 suspected cases.
No source has yet been determined, CBC News reports, though health officials have ruled out the water supply and are investigating several different foods.
 
At least 14 people have been people hospitalized with symptoms of E. coli infection, including bloody diarrhea, vomiting and stomach cramps.
 
Eleven of the confirmed cases are in the town of Miramachi, while another two are in Bathurst. Another 14 people have shown symptoms of E. coli infection but have not returned stool test results.
Another two people in the town of Saint John are currently infected with a separate strain of E. coli.
 
The first illness was reported on April 23. The infected individuals range in age from 15 to 55.
