Core Tip: The Beijing International Fruit and Vegetable Fair took place last week.
The Beijing International Fruit and Vegetable Fair took place last week. The first two days were the most interesting, when a lot of lectures and forums were organized. Overall the number of visitors was greater on the second and third days.

Most of the foreign companies have been coming here for a few years already, to show support and commitment for new export trade agreements. John Tyas from Avocados Australia commented: “We've been participating in this fair since 2012. Australian avocados are not allowed to enter China yet, though we are very committed and enthusiastic to enter this market. Therefore, we participate in this fair every year, to show our willingness and 100% commitment.”

Andrew Mandemaker from Apple and Pear Australia mentioned: “Waiting for a product to receive the right protocols and regulations to be made ready for export always takes a while. Though, we are very patient and always follow the rules, we hope that in the future our pears and apples can also enter China. By participating in this exhibition, we show our support for more Australian agricultural products entering China.”

For the Beijing Qifan Youbao Shangmao Company it was their first time at this fair. They were housed in the Xinfadi section and sell mainly all different kinds of pomelos on the wholesale market in Beijing. Huang Xueyan mentioned: `We really like this exhibition. If we have a chance next year, we would like to participate again." Though some companies also expected more commercial benefit from this exhibition than they actually got.

However, for conducting limited market research, this show was also a good opportunity. A lot of companies had prepared samples for visitors to taste. In this way, they could immediately see people`s reaction to their product. So if you want to receive direct feedback on your products, which could be of great value for new marketing strategies or changes in the product itself, please come to the fair.
