Berry to update equipment and expand product lines

Core Tip: Berry Plastic Corporation will use a grant of more than US$70,000 (€54,000) as part of a $4.4m project to update equipment and expand product lines.


The company will receive a $71,850 Economic Development Income Tax (EDIT) grant from the Economic Development Corporation (EDC) of Wayne County.


The grant will help purchase and install new equipment and assist with the training of staff.


The Indiana-based firm will invest $4.4.m in the project and create 10 jobs.  


Berry Plastics Corporation produce open and closed top packaging, polyethylene-based plastic films, flexible packaging and heat-shrinkable coatings and has 80 facilities worldwide.


Mark Smith, Chair of the EDC of Wayne County Board of Directors, said: “Berry Plastics Corporation is making an investment and creating jobs for our community.


“We’re happy to be able to work with them on this project
