Pacific Coast Fruit recalls bagged processed salads over Listeria contamination

Core Tip: Pacific Coast Fruit Company, a firm based in Portland, Oregon, is voluntarily recalling multiple types of bagged processed salads due to the potential contamination of Listeria monocytogenes, according to FDA.
The recalled products were distributed to Fred Meyer, Avanti, and Evergreen in Oregon, Washington, Alaska and Idaho. They are packed in a 9.6oz -10oz clamshell style, and VA food service items is packed in 5 lbs - 20 lbs food service salads bags.

There have been no reported illnesses associated with this recall. Consumers who have purchased this product should not consume it and are urged to return it to the place of purchase or destroy the product.

Listeria monocytogenes is an organism which can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems.
