Betagro Group corporate marketing senior vice-president Athapol Uraipriwan said that the group invested about THB600m ($18.99m) in Betagro MF Deli facility, which is a joint venture between Betagro and Japanese processed foods maker Marudai Food, at Lop Buri province, reported Bangkokpost.com.
The Lop Buri facility produces 800 tons of sausage and cooked-food every month, which is primarily exported to Japanese market. Betagro MF Deli aims to achieve THB200m ($6.33m) in annual sales in its first year of operation.
As part of the $94.98m investment, the company is also planning to set up a new feed mill in Lop Buri. The construction of the facility is expected to be completed in the third quarter of this year.
Betagro Group expects revenues to be THB68bn ($2.15bn) this year, an increase from THB60bn ($1.89bn) in 2011. Of the total revenues, it expects about 70% to come from the domestic market, the report said.
