Sainsbury's recalls nut mix over salmonella contamination concerns

Core Tip: UK-based supermarket chain Sainsbury's is recalling all packs of its own-brand So Organic Fruit and Nut Mix, over concerns of salmonella contamination, reported the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
According to the agency, salmonella has been detected in one pack. Salmonella is a common cause of food poisoning. Food products that are susceptible to salmonella contamination are - unpasteurised milk, eggs, meat, poultry, and fresh produce.

The product being recalled is - all date codes of Sainsbury's So Organic Fruit and Nut Mix, 300g.

Sainsbury's has recalled the affected product as a precaution, and customer notices have been displayed in stores explaining the reason behind the recall.

Consumers have been advised not to eat this product. The product can be returned to the store for a full refund.

No other Sainsbury's products are known to be affected.
