Core Tip: The US Agency for International Development (USAID) and Engro Foods are implementing a project to install 60 milk chillers in remote villages in Pakistan, as a part of a strategy to increase incomes of small dairy farms.
The USAID-funded Entrepreneurs Project, which is being implemented by Mennonite Economic Development Associates (MEDA) and its local partner Engro Foundation, will install chillers in remote areas in Sindh and Punjab.

This project is designed help dairy farmers in remote areas earn more income by ensuring proper storage of their milk, as milk often gets wasted due to lack of storage, reported Pakobserver.net.

Nearly 16 chillers have been already installed in Larkana District. The chillers will also be installed in the following districts - Shikarpur, Dadu, Khairpur, Naushero Feroze, Ghotki, Muzaffargarh and Layyah.

Entrepreneurs Project Chief of Party Agnes Luz said these chillers serve as yet another example of the cooperation between the US Government and Pakistani organizations in furthering the country's development priorities.

"We believe that this initiative will increase employment and incomes for hundreds of families in these ten districts," Luz added.
